Manners cost nothing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently I have\nbeen a little irritated when having referred a supplier to a potential\ncustomer, I\u2019ve heard nothing about how it all went. So I decided that there are\nsome things I think should always be done when someone introduces you to one of\ntheir contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. If someone gives you a referral or introduces\nyou to someone follow up the referral or introduction. Otherwise you undermine\nthe reputation of the person who refers you, and, of course, your own.<\/li>
  2. Say thank you to the person who gave you the\nreferral or made the introduction right away, don\u2019t wait to find out whether\nwork will come from the referral or introduction. A referral does not guarantee\nthat work will happen, but it certainly increases the odds so acknowledge that\nto the person who made the introduction.<\/li>
  3. If work does come from the referral or\nintroduction let the person who gave you the referral or made the introduction\nknow, (you don\u2019t have to tell them how much you made).<\/li>
  4. Ask the person who gave you the referral or\nintroduction how you can help them.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    None of it difficult or arduous, but it shows you appreciate someone\nhelping you, it makes sure that they feel valued and, who knows, it may mean\nmore work will come your way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
